Mr. Cronk was born Oct. 2, 1855, in the town of Omar, Jefferson county, N. Y. He moved to Omro with his family when he was a boy. He was married to Miss Mary Voss of Oshkosh in 1880.
The couple moved to Ashland, where he was employed on steamboats for 20 years. They returned to Omro and Mr. Cronk was employed on the government boat Wolf and on the Mayflower Jr. He had been retired for several years.
Mr. Cronk lived at 405 Division street.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Gurn Myers, Milwaukee; Mrs. Edward Freiberg and Mrs. Dale Allen, Oshkosh; a brother, Charles Cronk, Newark, N. Y.; five grandsons and two granddaughters.
He was a member of Omro lodge, No. 168, of Masons. Members of that lodge are to conduct funeral rites Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Spikes & McDonald funeral home. Burial will be in the family lot at Riverside cemetery. Friends wishing to view the remains may do so at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and until the time of the services.
