Mary Lou (Fields) Sturges, age 84, passed away on December 21, 2020 at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw, Oklahoma.

Mary Lou was born on July 12, 1936 in Vinita, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Leroy Owen Fields and Mable Pearl (Cates) Fields. She was united in marriage to Carles Wayne “Dick” Sturges on May 24, 1968 in Jay, Oklahoma. Mary Lou was an amazingly talented seamstress, she hand-made all three of her daughter’s wedding dresses. Mary Lou won several Blue Ribbons on her astonishing quilts. She was a member of the Miami First Assembly of God and Women’s Ministry Leader. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband Roderick Reid (1967).
She left behind her husband Dick Sturges, but sadly, he passed away a bit over two weeks after she passed away.

She is survived by her children: Debbie Overacre (Lelan) of Fairland, Oklahoma, Russel Sturges (Dorrie) of Florida, Robin Weimer (Brett) of Springfield, Missouri, and Brent Sturges (Windie) of Miami, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her brother Rick Fields (Karen) of Miami, Oklahoma.
She was blessed with eleven grandchildren; Melissa Spencer, Toby Sturges, Shawn Sturges, Teia Williams, Wesley Weimer, Jeremy Weimer, Corey Weimer, Hunter Sturges, River Sturges, Brooklyn Sturges and Lake Sturges, and seven great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family.

Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. Visitation will start an hour before, 10 AM. Mary will be laid to rest in Mose Ridge Cemetery in Topsy, Oklahoma.
