Thomas G. Andrus, 72, passed away on December 17, 2020 after a short illness. He was born on January 16, 1948 in Lock Haven, PA to the late James and Elizabeth (Capello) Andrus he was the third child of seven. He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1965 and went on to receive his bachelor's degree at Youngstown State University after the war.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was awarded two Purple Heart Medals for wounds received during the Vietnam War.
After his initial training from the Marine Corps was completed in 1967 he married Sherry Gardner from which they were blessed with two daughters, Lisa and Alison.
He spent his adult life working in the aluminum extrusion industry in various supervisory levels. After retirement, Tom enjoyed spending his time as a security guard at St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN.

Tom appreciated a good musical, historical movies and documentaries. He was a master at Jeopardy! and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was extremely handy, could fix or build anything, and was willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed going to the beach to watch a beautiful sunset.

He was an active member of the Marine Corps League (South Bend & Gulf Coast), the American Legion Post 110, the VFW Post 5690, DAV, AMVETS, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Chuck) Daily of NC and Alison (Shawn) Cox of IN; and his grandchildren, Keira, Vincent, Dominic, Conor and Spencer. He is also survived by his three brothers, Jim (Kim) Andrus of FL, Dave (Audrey) Andrus of PA and Chuck Andrus of TX and three sisters, Vickie (Jack) Carty of NH, Jackie (Robert) Heron of SC, and Franny (Corie Purdey) Andrus of NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services and burial at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. June 17, 2021.
