Marie Mélanie d'Hervilly Hahnemann was the first female homeopathic physician. Marie Mélanie d'Hervilly was born into an old but impoverished French noble family, the daughter of Comte Joseph d'Hervilly and Marie-Joséphe Gertrude Heilrath. She received the surname Gohier as the posthumously adopted daughter of Louis-Jérôme Gohier. She was married in 1835 to Samuel Hahnemann.

Gravesite Details

Her remains and those of her husband were transferred from Montmartre Cemetery to Père-Lachaise Cemetery in 1898.
