Miss Caroline Snow was born on Kusaie (today Kosrae) Island, Micronesia, in the South Pacific, on 22 December 1856, the first-born daughter of American Protestant Christian Missionaries, Rev. Benjamin Galen Snow and his wife, Lydia Vose (Buck) Snow. Both of her parents were born in the state of Maine, USA. Caroline Snow had one younger brother, Frederick Galen Snow, born 9 March 1858, also on Kosrae Island, Micronesia.

Miss Snow, who never married, lived with her widowed mother in Massachusetts after her father's untimely death on 1 May 1880. The family had returned to Maine after Rev. Snow suffered a stroke in 1877 in Micronesia. A few years after her mother's passing in 1887, Miss Snow joined her brother who owned a coffee, dairy cattle and pineapple plantation near Hilo, "Big Island," in the Kingdom of Hawai'i. She was a teacher both in Massachusetts and in Honolulu, Hawaii.

After her brother's passing in March 1926, Caroline Snow continued living in Glenwood (Mountain View), Island of Hawai'i, Hawaii Territory (annexed in August 1898 by the USA), until early 1928 when her ill health led her to move to Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California. There, on 11 December 1928 she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage (stroke) and passed away the same day.

Her California county death certificate states she was buried at Inglewood Cemetery, Inglewood, Los Angeles, California, USA.
