Frances L. Grizzle, age 90, of Akron, peacefully transitioned on Christmas morning (December 25, 2020) to her home in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Dahlonega, Georgia to the late Ben and Rebecca Elizabeth (Turner) Jarrard. She was a rubber worker (cv trimmer) at Teledyne-Monarch Rubber Co. in Hartville retiring with 41 1/2 years service. Frances enjoyed chatting with her neighbors on Howard Lane, cooking for family and friends, if six people were coming for dinner, she would have enough food for sixteen. She made the best cornbread, biscuits and gravy, buckeye candy and chocolate delight desserts. Her grandchildren would only take pbj sandwiches made with grandma's delicious strawberry freezer jam in their school lunch boxes. Her joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughters. When her granddaughter was a little girl, they would sit in the family room watching "Days of Our Lives" while drinking mugs of coffee (Sarah's was mostly milk). Her grandson, Seth, remembers spending long summer days with her hunting four leaf clovers by day and fireflies by night. She delighted in telling people about her grandson Seth's architecture and lighting business (Graypants) in Seattle. She loved seeing all his new lighting designs. Frances was selfless, always making and taking time to care for those near and dear to her. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Chapel in Hartville, OH. Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Albert; and brothers: Johnnie, P.J., Carmel (Bud) Jarrard and sisters: Agnes Free, Ruth Cash, Bessie Lee, Cloye Duncan, Verbie Lou Brewer, Lena Nix. She is survived by her son, Rev. Stan (Susan) Grizzle; grandchildren: Sarah (Shaun) Byler of Hartville and Seth Grizzle of Seattle, WA; great-granddaughters, Sophia and Sadie Byler; sisters: Faye Allison, Shirley (Talmadge) Winkler of Lawrenceville, GA, Sydna Franklin of Atlanta, GA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A private family service will be held at her church. Final resting place is Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International (Bible distribution ministry), Alliance Camp, P.O. Box 3154, Alliance, OH 44601.
