Ray Francis Lerew, 88, of Dillsburg, PA passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Church of God Home in Carlisle. He was born January 19,1932, in Dillsburg, was the son of the late George Merle and Cora Mae Lerew and spent his entire life in the Dillsburg area. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Martha Eliza Paxton Lerew. He is survived by his daughter Jo Carol Lerew of Harrisburg; 3 sons John Ray (Mary) and Matt R. (Chris), both of Dillsburg; and Bryan "Buck" L. (Tracy) of Mechanicsburg; 4 grandchildren (John Jr., Tara Greer (Casey), Madison and Nicholas) and 4 great-grandchildren (Casey Jr, Eliza, John III and Jade). In addition he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his 7 siblings Daniel, Lloyd, Charles, Richard, Pearl King, Mary May and Dorothy Hunter. Ray was a farmer most of his life in Dillsburg. He also worked as Road Master for Franklin Township and attended the Franklintown United Brethren Church. He enjoyed trips to the beach, listening and dancing to string music at Franklintown Fire Hall and was an avid bowler. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family due to the current Covid-19 situation. The Cremation Society of PA is handling the arrangements.
