BURGAW — Pammela Sue ‘Pam’ Baker, 55, left this earth way too soon, leaving a huge hole in our hearts. Pam was born Jan. 1, 1965, in Raleigh and passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Pam was a much-loved and respected nurse practitioner and owner of Coastal Primary Medicine, Burgaw. She was a member of Burgaw Rotary and served on the Board of Directors of Pender County Health Department. Pam was truly a giver in life, sharing her time, medical expertise, and friendship, as she meant so much to so many. Most of all, her family was her passion. Her memory will be as resolute as she was.
Pam was preceded in death by her father, Austin James “Jimmy” Baker; mother, Janice Perry; brother, James Aric Baker; and grandparents, Austin James “Jim” Baker Sr. and John D. “Jondee” Baker. She was also preceded in death by her uncle, David Edward Fulghum; and cousin, George Allen Fulghum.
Pam is survived by her two sons, CAJ and Samuel Baker of Wilmington, and their father, Darryl Pinner; mother, Verlyn Fulghum Baker; stepfather, Lue Martin of Burgaw; sister, Dr. Stephanie Baker of Burgaw, and her children, Noah, Eli, Adam and Ella Blanton. Pam is also survived by her grandmother, Doris Jernigan Ellis of Mount Olive; and two beloved aunts, Judy Fulghum Fuller of Fremont and Donna Waller Fulghum of Mount Olive. Her devoted cousins include Scott and Mort Fuller and Jody and Henry Fulghum.
