Gertrude B. Younglove, age 87, of Flat Rock, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte, Michigan.
Born on October 21, 1933 in Carleton, Michigan, she was the daughter of Roland and Bertha (Weatherholt) Ziegler. On November 29, 1952 she married George Younglove in New Boston, Michigan.
Gertrude was a member of St. Roch's Catholic Church and was on the board of directors of the Flat Rock Historical Society. She enjoyed embroidery, puzzles, spending time with family and friends and cuddling all her great grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Roland Ziegler, sisters Luella Lampshire and Bernice Roberts and friends Jim Kerr, Bernard Jones, Mike Finley and Frank, Jim and Dorothy Klauza.
She is survived by her sons, Alan Younglove, Roch (Karen) Younglove, Guy (Marcia) Younglove and Glen (Barb) Younglove; daughter, Wanda Hoffman; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Dixie) Ziegler; sisters, Shirley (Ralph) Zilka, Lois (Richard) Umin, Janice Dulecki and Nancy Moore; friend, Judy Schuler.
Friends may visit in the Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at St. Roch Catholic Church on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:00 am. She will lie in-state from 9:30 am until time of service. Father Ray Lewandowski will officiate the service. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery, Huron Township, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Flat Rock Historical Society.
