Helen P. Abbott, 90, of Vienna passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 2, 2006, at Worthington Manor.
She was born Sept. 17, 1915, in Palestine, W.Va., a daughter of the late Fred C. and Lucy Beeson Morehead. Helen retired from the American Viscose Co. after 40 years of service. She was a United Methodist by faith and enjoyed quilting.
She is survived by four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Devol of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Grace Morehead of Vienna, with whom she made her home for the last several months; special friends, Tom and Kim Ezell of Vienna; and her faithful companion, "Sissy".
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Abbott; one son, Larry Hayes; one brother, Elza Morehead; and a sister, Kathryn Abbott.
Funeral services will be noon Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna with the Rev. C.E. Nutter and Pastor Robert May officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen North Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
