Career U.S. Army Officer, served two tours in Vietnam and earned the Bronze Star. He was also an instructor at U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY. Upon retirement, he later earned an Electrical Engineering degree and taught at UTEP, EPCC and Burgess HS. He was also a Master Electrician and owner of an electrical contracting business.
Mr. Bee was beloved and respected; leaving behind a legacy of generosity, Biblical sharing of the Word of God and a deep love for humanity. He made meaningful contributions throughout the El Paso community where he was active for decades, including church, Master Gardener Assoc., Amateur Radio Club, and was a Scoutmaster in the BSA - in addition to a host of other civic activities. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends while sharing his extensive knowledge of horticulture, science and mathematics.
Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary of 68 years, his children - Ernest (Maria) Beeler of San Antonio, TX; Linda (Roger) Hartwig of Grand Ledge, MI; Michael (Nina) Beeler of El Paso, TX; Anthony Beeler of San Antonio, TX; Louis (Karen) Beeler of Charlotte, NC; and 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and sister Sylvia Pope of St. Louis, MO. He will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and dearest friends throughout the nation!
A private visitation was held on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Martin Funeral Home East. We regret that due to current circumstances visitation was limited to immediate family only. Burial will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, Monday, January 4, 2021 with military honors.
