John E. Baker, 77, of South Buffalo Township, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007, while in the company of family members at ACMH Hospital, East Franklin Township. Mr. Baker was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Sarver, Buffalo Township, a son of the late John Lynn and L. Pearl (Brewer) Baker. He was a member of Srader Grove United Presbyterian Church, Freeport. He worked as a heating and air conditioning technician for 45 years until his retirement in 1992. John enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen L. (Baker) Baker; his son, David Jack (Carolyn) Baker, of Kiski Township; his daughter, Barbara (Richard) Snyder, of Cowansville; and two grandsons, James (Jennifer) Baker and Brian (Becca) Baker, both of Vandergrift. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Dakota Leigh and Richard Jack Baker; and two brothers, Robert L. (Margie) Baker, of Natrona Heights, and Fred (Janice) Baker, of Rockledge, Fla. Family and friends are being received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Srader Grove United Presbyterian Church, South Buffalo Township, with Lay Pastor Lloyd Riggle officiating.

Graveside services will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
