James Francis. Sutherlin, 81, of Duncanville, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2021. He was born on July 17, 1939 in Greencastle, Indiana to his parents Marshall and Dorothy Plessenger Sutherlin. He was named after both of his grandfathers.
James was a volunteer firefighter for Duncanville for many years, a truck driver and served as deacon for Faith Baptist Church in Duncanville.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Valsyne Sutherlin in 1974; daughter, Sandra Kay Capps in 2001; brother, Mike Sutherlin.
Mr. Sutherlin is survived by his wife, Carolyn Almand Sutherlin (Married May 3, 1975); children, Paula Rae Sutherlin, Marcus Bradley "Brad" Sutherlin and wife Andrea; grandson, Chad Tate; Nephews, William Sutherlin and wife Lisa, Kyle Almand and wife Cathy and cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be 5-7pm Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park in Waxahachie, Texas.
