WEAVERVILLE – Mary LouAnn “Lil’ Honey” Harrison Banks, age 84, of Weaverville, NC died Thursday, December 31, 2020 as a result of late-stage Alzheimer's.
Ms. Banks was born April 22, 1936 in Buncombe County to the late Roscoe Conklin and Essie Leigh Mainer Banks. She graduated Weaverville High School with the Class of 1954. In addition to her lifelong work with many churches, she retired after serving over 15 years with the Baptist Bookstore (Baptist Sunday School Board) Lifeway Christian Bookstore in Charlotte, NC. Her love of family, music, dancing, and singing is greatly missed.
In addition to her parents and all her siblings, she was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Archie V. Harrison, Sr. Archie Venoy Harrison, Sr.;
Surviving are her children, Angela (Harrison) Monts De Oca of Bailey, NC, Archie “Sonny” Jr. and wife Lorrie of Gastonia, NC, and Amy and Chonte of Bessemer City, NC; three grandchildren, Jessica Marie (Tommy Stogner), Adam Monts De Oca (wife Brittany), and Jacob; and five great-grandchildren, James, Landon, Tristan, Thomas, and Patricia LouAnn.
A private graveside service was held at West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville, NC. (Edited by Howell.)
