Nathan Stiles Jr. was born at Hebron, Conn. (probably about 1728); m. Keziah Kilbron ~1750. In the year 1760, approximately two hundred emigrants from Connecticut were invited to remove to Horton, Kings Co., Nova Scotia, and take possession of it; the Acadians having removed from the place 5 years before. Cornwallis, N. S. (Kings Co.). They sailed together in a fleet of 22 vessels, convoyed by a brig of war mounting 16 guns, commanded by Capt. Pigot. They arrived on the 4th of June, 1760, and took possession of the lands formerly occupied by the Acadians.
Nathan served in the British army at the capture of Louisburg in 1758, and at Quebec in 1759. He was one of the New England colonists who moved to Nova Scotia in 1760. Approximately 60 of the colonists were each granted a bounty of 500 acres in what is now Kings county, N. S., to which place Nathan moved with his family. He died at Cornwallis in ~1808.
