Col. Augustus H. Bainbridge, aged 76, retired officer of the U. S. A., died yesterday at his apartments in the Atladena. Ft. Wright officers are arranging a military funeral.

Fort Wright Officers Honorary Pallbearers - Squad to Fire Death Salute

The full detachment of the two battalions of the Fourteenth infantry at Fort George Wright will turn out this afternoon at the military funeral of the late Colonel Augustus H. Bainbridge, age 77, who died Thursday at his home at the Altadena apartments. Colonel Bainbridge was for 26 years from 1858 an enlisted man and an officer in the Fourteenth infantry.

Dean W. C. Hicke of All Saints' cathedral will conduct the services from the Gilman undertaking rooms at 2 p.m. The honorary pallbearers will be the following officers from Fort Wright; Lieutenant-Colonel Maury Nichols, Major F. H. Albright, Captain M. E. Saville, Captain P. H. Mullay, Captain W. N. Jordan, Captain A. H. Martin.

From the undertaking rooms the coffin, draped with the American flag, will be followed by an officer's saddle horse draped in black, with boots and spurs reversed. The soldiers of the two battalions will join the cortege near the Fort Wright grounds and proceed to Fort Wright cemetery. The following active pallbearers, sergeants from the fort detachment, will convey the bier at the Fort Wright grounds; Sergeant Jesse Powell, Company A; Sergeant Norman Lund, Company B; Sergeant Everett Shordelman, Company C; Sergeant Samuel Gilbert, Company I; Sergeant Charles N. Bruce, Company K; Sergeant William Costelloe, Company I.

A squad will fire the death salute across the open grave, the body will be lowered to its last resting place as the bugier blows taps.
