Francis Tomb Wilson, Sr., was the son of George Alexander Wilson, Sr. (1855-1931) and Frances L. Tomb (1862-1943). He was born in LaSalle, Illinois. Francis attended the University of Chicago and was a member of Psi Upsilon, Omega Chapter. He also attended Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, his photo appearing in their book dedicated to the "Men of Oberlin" who in the Great War helped to make this "Everybody's World". Page 99 shows Lieut. Francis Tomb Wilson; ex-'20.

He married Eleanor O'Connor 28 Jan 1922 in Chicago, and they had four children: Francis Tomb Wilson, Jr. (1923-1990), Dr. John Newhall Wilson, Dr. Eleanor Wilson Orr, and Margo Wilson Eddy.

He married Katrina Raye (Willingham) Esgro 6 March 1952 in Tennessee.

Francis died in the VA Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee 10 Aug 1962. His remains were sent to a crematory in Chicago, Illinois (per his Tennessee Death Certificate).
