STEVEN EUGENE CALDWELL, 34, of North Little Rock, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 6, 2007. He was born August 16, 1973 to Earl E. and Debra M. Caldwell. Steven graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1991. He was of Baptist faith and attended Community Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
His parents; one son, Steven M. Caldwell; one daughter, Megan M. Caldwell, both of Little Rock; one sister, Terri Ingram and husband, Ashley of Morrilton, survive him.


Steven Caldwell was found dead early Saturday, Oct. 6th in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn at 120 W. Pershing Blvd., across the street from the North Little Rock Police Department. Sgt. Terry Kuykendall said that Caldwell had been beaten, kicked and run over with a car. His wallet was found near his body. A hotel employee gave police a description of the suspect, and security cameras captured images of the killing and of a car leaving the scene, Kuykendall said. Abraham Vargas was arrested and charged in the killing on Tuesday, Oct 9, 2007. He was in jail and being held without bond.
