CHARLES W. AUSTEN
Austen, Charles W., 25 Jan 1845 - 05 Nov 1928
Charles W. Austen is the first born child of Charles and Ann Austen. He appears on the 1850 West Deer Township census and as 5 year old, born in PA.
He was listed as a farm laborer on his father's farm in 1860 and 1870. By 1880 he was working at a lumber yard, still living with his parents. The 1900 census cannot be found yet, but in 1910 he was living in Etna with his nephews Edwin and Charles. In 1920 he was in Etna with the family of David Edwin Austen, the son of his brother Robert.

He was a retired merchant who lived at #92 Grant Avenue in Etna.
He died in Allegheny General Hospital and was buried from the Holzheimer & Bock Funeral Home of Sharpsburg.
