The funeral of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Murphy, the mother of John S. Murphy, of the Telegraph, will occur at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the son's residence, 135 South Locust street. The body will be first taken to the Cathedral, where services will be held, an thence conveyed to Key West.

Funeral of Mrs. Murphy

The remains of Mrs. Elizabeth Murphy, the mother of the editor of the Telegraph, reached the city at 7:15 last evening. The lady was 87 years old and a native of the County of Leitrim, Ireland. With her husband, whom she survived for a period of six years, she emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1843, and in 1855 came to Iowa. Her living children are Mrs. Mary Rank, of Central City, Colo., and Mr. John S. Murphy, of Dubuque.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at two o'clock at the Cathedral and from there to Key West where the estimable woman and loving mother was after a long life of usefulness placed to rest.
