OBITUARY APPEARING IN THE DAYTON DAILY NEWS

SYX, Kenneth Paul, dear husband, father, grandfather, and brother, age 54 of 1652 Garwood Drive, Dayton, Ohio 45432 passed away on Monday afternoon, November 12, 1984 at his residence. He was an employee of Delco Moraine Division of General Motors. Kenny was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 27, 1929, the tenth child of John Wesley and Daisy Dean Six (nee: Lowry). He was preceded in death by his parents (father - December 17th, 1941 and mother - April 23, 1953); and sisters, Neva 1943; June Lee 1975; brothers, Robert 1907; George 1927; Raymond 1983. He will be forever missed by his loving wife Marilyn V. Syx (nee: Traylor) of 36 years whom he married in Dayton, Ohio on June 12th, 1948, his loving children whom he cherished, daughter and son-in-law Karen Lee (Syx) and Donald Lee Johnson; Sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Richard (Rick)and Darlene (Orme) Syx; Brian Kennedy and Susan Lee (Newman) Syx; and John Paul (Jack) Syx; grandson John Paul Syx who makes his homes with his grandparents; his other grandchildren, Stacey Lee Johnson; Casey Lee Johnson; Amy Lee Johnson; step grandchildren, Christopher McCoppin; Jennifer McCoppin; Jason McCoppin; all of Dayton, Ohio; Stephanie Raschel and Shannon Marie Syx of Spicewood, Texas. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Louella (Syx) and George Duckro, brother and sister-in-law Rolland and Naomi Six of Dayton; sisters, Verna (Syx) Evans of San Diego, California; Lella (Syx) Michael of Chicago, Illinois. Funeral services will be ccnducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, November 15, 1984 from the Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, by the Rev. John (Jack) Schwarz, Hospice of Dayton chaplain, who was such a comfort to Kenny during his long and courageous battle with lung cancer. Interment will be in Hill Grove Cemetery, Miamisburg, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home 6-9 P.M. on Wednesday, November 14th, 1984 and from Noon until time of services on Thursday.
