Theodore Bauer married Mary Fastner Mohelnitzky, a widow, on June 21, 1917, at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Germantown, Richland County, Wisconsin. Mary had four young daughters (Irene, Evelyn, Helen, and Merie) from her marriage with Conrad Mohelnitzky. Mary and Theodore ran the general store in Germantown for many years. Theodore sold it to Robert and Leona Manville Milfred in 1945 after his wife Mary died.

Theodore Bauer, Germantown Grocer Dies

Theodore Bauer, 86, died Thursday, July 8, in a Hillsboro nursing home after a long illness. He had owned and operated a general store in Germantown for many years, before his retirement.

He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic church, where funeral services were held Saturday at 9:30. The Gant Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Survivors are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ray [Helen Mohelnitzky] Peters, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Anton [Merie Mohelnitzky] Blau, Fond du Lac; two brothers, Hubert and Arnold, both of Cazenovia; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Esther [Escher] and Mrs. Gertrude Walsh, Cazenovia, and Mrs. Margaret Honer of Ithaca.
