BELLVILLE: Hattie Mabel Hamilton, age 83, of Rule Road, Bellville, died Wednesday morning February 21, 2001 in Knox Community Hospital, Mt. Vernon, following a long illness.

She was born August 30, 1917 in Webster, WV, to Daniel Webster and Annie K. Miller Perrine, and moved to the Mansfield area in 1954.

Hattie was a member of the Stiving Road Free Will Baptist Church, who enjoyed cooking and flower gardening. The consummate and doting grandmother, she also enjoyed her quilting and embroidery.

She had worked 19 years as a nurse’s aid at Hillcrest Nursing Home, retiring in 1974.

Hattie’s legacy of care and devotion was evident through her care-giving granddaughter Cheryl Boroff.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Edna & Mose Boyd of Mansfield, and Erma & Floyd Swanger of Bellville; two sons and daughters-in-law Charles R. & Deloris Hamilton of Mansfield, and James R. & Trudy Hamilton of Mansfield; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a brother Alvin Perrine of Akron.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond E. Hamilton on May 16, 1980; three infant sons Raymond, Earl and Homer Hamilton; two grandsons Keith Boyd and Shannon Hamilton; and two brothers Aaron Perrine and Lando Perrine.

Friends may call Friday February 23, 2001 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 am. The Rev. Monty G. Perry will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
