LeRoy R. Krejcarek
A true servant of our community left us on Friday, January 8, 2021.
LeRoy was born to the late Myles and Mildred (Zimmerhackel) Krejcarek on September 11, 1929. He was a 1948 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School.
His work career began at the National Tinsel Factory and Burger Boat Co. His work ethic followed him into the Army when he was drafted in 1951. He did his basic training and schooling at Fort Gordon, GA and served one year in Alaska.
Upon his discharge from the Army, LeRoy married Dorothy M. Kvitek on September 7, 1953 at St. Joseph's Church in Kellnersville.
Leroy accepted a position at Hamilton Manufacturing in the Engineering Department, where he spent 39 years. During his years there he was put in a supervisor role and belonged to Hamilton Management Association where he served as president for three years.
Outside of his work day he found time for his love of bowling. He coached bowling to the Catholic Knights Group, a group of High School students at Rudy's Lanes and taught his own kids at these same lanes. He was dedicated and assisted in Rudy's Industrial League and the Two Rivers Bowling Association for 50 years. LeRoy was honored for his many years given to the sport by being enshrined in the Manitowoc County USBC Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2016. He also received the Appreciation/Achievement award during the 1987 Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame banquet.
LeRoy and Dorothy hosted an AFS student, Robert Lockington, while he attended Roncalli High School during the 1972-1973 school year. Robert returned years later and married another Roncalli alumni, Jean Konop.
His service to our community included serving on the Board of Directors for Shoreline Credit Union where he was also Chairman of the Board, Two Rivers Recreation and Tree Board, President of the Friends of the Two Rivers Senior Center, the Board to Remodel the Senior Center and volunteered with his wife at the Point Beach State Park visitor center. He graduated from the Two Rivers Citizens Academy. In 2007 he received the Felician Village Award for exemplary service to Manitowoc County seniors. For 14 years he drove the Red Cross Wheels to transport seniors to medical appointments and errands around Two Rivers, and for five years he drove the Senior Center T.R.U.S.T. (Two Rivers Unique Senior Transportation) car that replaced the Red Cross Wheels.
In addition, he delivered Meals on Wheels to the Mishicot Senior Center as well as to seniors throughout the city of Two Rivers.
His love for his faith was evident in his dedication to serve mass for 50 years and usher Sunday Mass at Holy Redeemer/St. Peter the Fisherman. He proudly served on their Church Council as President.
In his spare time he loved to golf with his wife and children, play sheepshead with any family member that could handle his comments about abnormal leads or not cutting the deck before dealing, and many other card games. He was also a Boys Scout Leader for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, and he was on cloud nine anytime a family member would polka with him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Dave Pleier, assisted by Deacon Paul Gleichner, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of the American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Friday from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
Due to the current pandemic, social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks will be required.
