Doris Helen Montooth age 89 of Sweetwater, TN departed this life and went to her heavenly home with the Lord on January 10, 2021 at Sweetwater Hospital. She was a native of Paint Rock, TN lived in the Luttrell Community of Loudon until the death of her husband then moved to Sweetwater, TN. She was a member of Paint Rock Baptist Church. Doris loved watching the Lady Vols and working in her rose garden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy “Coot” Montooth, parents John and Beulah Cunningham, brothers and sisters: Kenneth, Joe, Willard, and Charles Cunningham, Bernece Martello, ElFreda Carter, and Hersel Bradford. Survivors include brother Paul Cunningham, Son Garey Montooth and (Dana), Daughters and sons-in-law Becky and Joe Hudson, Kim and Bill McDaniel. Grandchildren Brian and Elizabeth Hudson, Rachel Hudson, Tyler and Kristen McDaniel, Taylor and Austen Akens, and Anna McDaniel. Great grand-children Camden and Braxton McDaniel. There are also many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives whom she dearly loved, and many friends who called her “mom”. Friends and family may call at their convenience on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. the family will not be present due to the pandemic. Graveside services and interment will be conducted on Friday at 2:30 P.M. in the Sweetwater Memorial Park with Rev. Robert Jenkins officiating. Pallbearers include Brian Hudson, Tyler McDaniel, Richard and Bruce Cunningham, Tim Bradford, and Doug Montooth. COVID guidelines will be followed at services including masks and social distancing. Also, a special thank you to the staff at Sweetwater Hospital for the love and care they provided her during the past months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paint Rock Baptist Church or Fenders Methodist Church to the cemetery fund or charity of choice in memory of Doris Montooth.
