In addition to her husband Hugh, of 57 years, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son Virgil Farnen and his wife Julie of Boonville, MO; two daughters Barbie Smith and her husband David of Indian Grove, MO and Marilyn Fuemmeler and her husband Jeff of Glasgow, MO; one brother Vince Gruenloh and his wife Diane of Florissant, Mo and Bob Gruenloh of Marion, IA; ten grandchildren Skyler, Hayden, Kaitlynn, Hannah, Clark, Margaret, Lance, Holly, Danielle and Lilly; fifteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, a son Steven Paul Farnen, two sisters Betty Gruenloh and Eileen Meyer preceded her in death.
Gladys first worked as a key punch operator for Chevrolet, later she was a homemaker and finally a secretary for her husband's business Hug's Sales and Service. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she served on the Alter Sodality and was a volunteer at Boone Hospital Center. She enjoyed flowers, playing cards, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Friday, January 15, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury, MO. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Salisbury, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Friday, January 15, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury, MO.
