The first of eleven children born to Mary Jane Clarke and John Joseph Whitford. Died at Boodyarn from burns due to an accident. A magisterial inquiry was held by William Buckley J.P. on the 15th of July 1881.
Joseph Wheildon was undertaker and the Rev Francis Wood, Wesleyan minister conducted the funeral service.
Vic death registration number 9237/1881.

Originally buried in the Yarram Public Cemetery (burials 1873-1903) but re-interred in the Yarram New Cemetery about 1912.
