Bonnie L. Ferrell Waynick, age 85, passed away comfortably on Thursday, October 25, 2018, surrounded by her family.
She leaves us to greet her Lord and Savior and to be reunited with cherished friends and family that went before her including her husband, Howard Waynick and son, Edward Waynick.
Bonnie is survived by her children Thomas Waynick, Charlie Waynick, and Katherine Waynick, brother George Wesley Ferrell, daughter-in-law Dana Waynick, grandchildren Katelyn Young, Jamie Waynick and Kelly Young and her most loyal pup, Kaylee. Bonnie was a loving mother, grandmother, friend, neighbor and teacher. She was the eldest daughter of George and Kate Ferrell growing up in Greensboro, NC.
Bonnie attended Guilford School, Guilford High School, and Guilford College. Bonnie married Howard Waynick on July 14, 1956, and moved to Arlington, VA where Howard served in the Army and Bonnie started her teaching career. They settled back in Greensboro to raise their family of four children. Bonnie continued her teaching career at Guilford County Schools.
After the loss of her husband in 1993, Bonnie enjoyed the companionship of her good friend, Howard Coble, for many years. She also cherished her time at Guilford College United Methodist Church and serving with the Republican Women's Club. Bonnie was best known for her love and dedication to her family. She was a mother to everyone in the community.
The family would like to extend a gracious "thank you" to all of the incredible health care workers, nurses, doctors, techs, and first responders that treated Bonnie and her family as their own.
Bonnie's life will be celebrated on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Guilford College United Methodist Church.
