Gary T. "Chico" Ake, 79, of New Paris died on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Hillview Nursing Home. He was born on February 14, 1941 in Cessna, a son of the late Tolbert L. and Thelma J. (Bloom) Ake.

On May 2, 1969 in Bedford he married Dixie (Whisner) Ake who survives along with a son, Justin Ake and wife Kimberly of Altoona; three grandchildren: Tyson, Jocelyn, and Alaina; one brother Galen E. Ake of Everett; two sisters Linda J. Koontz and husband Mike of New Enterprise; and Vicki L. Imler and husband Steve of Everett; one nephew Earl John Davis of New Paris and 13 other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Howard and Clark Ake, and one sister, Hannah Mae Harbour.

Chico served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Everett Church of God. He worked as a Truck Driver for McQuaide out of Johnstown. Chico enjoyed horses and spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
