Arthur C. Mortensen of Palatine for 10 years Arthur C. Mortensen, 88, formerly of Chicago, will lie in state from noon until the time of services at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Road, Palatine. Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, Des Plaines. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, April 4, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Born March 27, 1919, in Chicago, he died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago. Arthur was a World War II Army veteran and received a bronze battle star for bravery. He was the former owner of the Grand-Hill Restaurant in Chicago and was an avid golfer. So after retiring from the restaurant business, he worked for the Buffalo Grove Golf Course as a ranger. He was also a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was the beloved husband of Margaret E. (nee Tessman) Mortensen; loving father of Lyle (Jane) Mortensen, Lois (Doug) Goetz, Christine (Ron Hahn) Mortensen, Thomas (Janice) Mortensen and Art (Candace) Mortensen; loving grandfather of 13; brother-in-law of Virginia Mortensen; and uncle of James Mortensen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Irwin and Raymond Mortensen.
