Brooks served his country proudly as a Sergeant in the 3d Battalion 327 Infantry 101st Airborne Division. As a squad leader in the mortar platoon, Brooks lead solders in the MFO Multinational Force and Observers, Sani Egypt. For his service Brooks received the Arm Commendation Medal for meritorious service to his country, along with many other awards. Brooks received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with a Minor in Corporate Finance, from the University of Alabama. He played on The University of South Alabama's Soccer Team before transferring to U of A. He attended The Webb School, and graduated from Mountain Brook Highschool. Brooks began his Operations and Project Management career at National Woodworks, Inc. in 1990, and continued to grow as a passionate and dynamic leader within the Millwork and Cabinet Industry. Brooks' dedication to his community led him to serve on the board of Adaptive Aquatics, where he married his passion for water-skiing and philanthropy, by teaching water-skiing to children, adults, and veterans with physical disabilities. He fervently loved God, his children and family, his country,
Alabama football, and the game of soccer. Brooks found joy in the simplest of things, believed humor to be the best antidote, and never passed up an opportunity for a lighthearted prank. He firmly believed a strong work ethic to be the cornerstone of success. He found peace and tranquility listening to music, camping, hunting, and letting time slip away on the water. He was a cherished friend to many and brought joy to whomever he encountered. He will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, moreover; by those who were blessed enough to call him a friend.
