Manitowoc - Owen J. Anhalt, age 93, of Manitowoc, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 19, 2021 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
Owen was born on October 24, 1927 in Collins, son of the late William and Elsie (Mahloch) Anhalt. He was a 1947 graduate of Valders High School. On July 8, 1950 he married the former Delores M. Meyer at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on October 3, 2019. Owen was employed as a machinist for 41 years at Kaufman Mfg. in Manitowoc, following his retirement he worked part time for his daughter and son-in-law at Royal Scot Golf Course in New Franken. Owen was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Manitowoc, Manitowoc Eagles Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, dartball, the Green Bay Packers and especially his grandchildren. Owen enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife of 69 years. They never missed watching the moon rise every evening.
Survivors include: his children: Joy (Larry) Rand, New Franken; Jean (James) Grall, Manitowoc; Jackie (Jeff) Jagodinsky, Manitowoc; Jody (Peter) Mears, Green Bay; one daughter-in-law: Janet Anhalt, Manitowoc; ten grandchildren: John Brian Anhalt, Barbara (Mike) Reneau, Marcus Rand, Derrick Rand, Justin Jagodinsky, Jordan Jagodinsky, Jacob (Kaitlin) Mears, Isaac Mears, Peter Mears, Jr., and Zachariah Mears; six great grandchildren: Shelby, Madelyn, Mason, Ava, Ethan, Amara; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Helen (Richard) Schmidt, Appleton; Ralph Binversie, Valders; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Elsie Anhalt; his wife: Delores Anhalt; one son: John Anhalt; one great grandson: Owen Oscar Reneau; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Henry (Althea) Anhalt, Joseph (Kathryn) Anhalt, Bernard Anhalt, William (Kathleen) Anhalt; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Betty Binversie, Alyce (August) Walber, Leona (John) Lettenberger, Gertrude (Alvin) Adelman; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Donald (Rosemary) Meyer.
Private family services have been held and Owen is laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
