Eunice M. Pendrock PORT HURON Eunice M. Pendrock, 96, of Port Huron, passed away Monday, January 16, 2006. She was born to Auldin and Alice Aldrich on April 21, 1909 in Port Huron and married Walter Pendrock in 1947. He passed away in 1971. During World War II, Eunice helped assemble B-29 bombers and was known as a "Rosie the Riveter." She later worked for many years at Newberry's Dime Store. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Eunice is survived by three sisters, Genevieve "Peggy" Pendrock of Harrison Township, Betty Blanchard of St. Clair, and Patsy (Eldon) Haynes of Port Huron; a brother, Melbourne Aldrich of Farmington Hills; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great- nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Kenneth, Ray, Don, Charles, and Jack Aldrich, and a sister, Geraldine Taylor. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Smith Family Funeral Home-South, 1230 Seventh St. The Rev. Max Amstutz, Port Huron Hospital Chaplin, will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made in Eunice's memory to Blue Water Hospice.
