William E. Allen, 77, of Tremont died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at his home.

He was born March 28, 1930, in Carmi, Ill., to Everett and Leathie Allen. He married Maxine Hodge on Dec. 10, 1950, in Carmi. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, William E. (Debra) Allen; two daughters, Terri (Don) West and Lea Ann (Robert) Perez, all of Tremont; one brother, Doyle (Angie) Allen of Trivoli; and five sisters, Virginia Bell of Orlando, Fla., Betty (Alan) Thomas of Plano, Shirley (Richard) Angle of Sumner, Louise (Larry) Evans of Spring Bay and Hilda (Ora) Roberts of Creve Coeur.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters and one great-grandchild.

He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 31 years, retiring in 1983 and was a member of I.V.A.A.C.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
