Mackey Gene Carrell

Gene was born January 9, 1937 to Edward M. & Eunice Estella (Edwards) Carrell in Cooper, Delta County, Texas. He married Clara Jane Powell, December 24, 1956 In Sunray, Moore County, Texas.

Newspaper Obit
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Sherman Eastland, chaplain of Northwest Texas Healthcare System, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mr. Carrell served in the Navy for 10 years aboard the ships USS Mispillon, USS Aeolus and USS Kitty Hawk. He drove for Groendyke Transport for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Jane; three daughters, Cindi Kinzer and Beth Paulk, both of Amarillo, and Helen Carrell of Golden, Colo.; two sons, Mack Carrell and Charley Carrell, both of Amarillo; his mother, Estelle Carrell of Dumas; two brothers, Marlyn Carrell and Wayne Carrell, both of Dumas; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
