Adeline Adele Quade, 91, of Brenham, TX, died January 22, 2021. Adeline was born October 26, 1929 in Anderson, Tx. to Albert and Adele (Sander) Gruetzner. She was baptized on November 3, 1929 at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson, Texas. Adeline was confirmed on April 18, 1943 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Navasota, Texas. She graduated from Reagan High School in Houston, Texas.

Adeline was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Pasadena, Texas, where she was a member of the Adult Choir for many years. Having no children of her own, she lavished love and attention upon her brother’s children. She was married to Raymond Quade on June 2, 1973 at Zion.

Adeline worked as a secretary at DuPont Chemical Manufacturing in LaPorte, Texas until she retired and moved to Brenham in 1983. Adeline enjoyed all kinds of needlework and made exquisite samplers and Christmas ornaments for herself, friends, and family. Adeline was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham. She moved to Kruse Village in 2009 where she resided until her death.

Survivors include her step-sons and daughters-in-laws, Gary and Elizabeth Quade of College Station, and Karl and Kelley Quade of Deer Park; nieces and nephew, Ruth (Mark) Jungman of San Antonio, Ray (Debbie) Gruetzner of Tyler and Kathy (Patrick) Hern of Giddings; 2 great-nieces, Magda Jungman and Anna Hern; and 5 great-nephews, Gideon, Mateo, and Joshua Jungman, and Eric and Chris Gruetzner; along with their spouses and children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Quade; parents, Albert and Adele Gruetzner; brother, Albert Gruetzner Jr.; and sister-in-law, Lillian Gruetzner.

Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund or Lutheran Heritage Foundation.

Adeline’s ashes will be buried in the Gruetzner family plot in Giddings, Texas. Due to COVID-19, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
