Carol Ann Hietpas

Manitowoc - Carol Ann Hietpas, 83, passed peacefully into God's embrace Monday, January 25, 2021.

She was born November 23, 1937 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank and Sophia (Feuerstein) Zettel. Carol's father passed when she was five. Sophia then married Joseph Braun, who played an important role in Carol's life. Carol was a 1956 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On October 6, 1956 Carol married Jerry, the love of her life for 64 years.

Carol's greatest joys beside family were gardening, reading, music, nature, and collecting Blue Delft.

She is survived by Jerry and their seven children and grandchildren: Mark (Susan); Ashley (fiancé Andy), Allison, Brennan, and Jake Smith. Bruce; Seth (Amanda). Dale (Lisa); Bridget Diedrich, Justin (Carly). Glen; Casey (Matt), Dayna (Adam) Stubbs. Mary (Gary) Tarnowske; Neal (Liv), Bryan (Christian). Roy (Beth). Betty (Fred) Jacques; Sydney and Lindsey. Carol is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Brylee, Evelyn, Brycen, and Everly; nine sisters-in-law; and seven brothers-in-law. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Zettel, one brother-in-law, and one grandchild, Emily Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc on Friday, January 29, 2021. Rev. Doug LeCaptain will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with inurnment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call on Friday at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of Mass at 12:00 noon. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in an effort to keep everyone safe, the family requests that everyone please wear a facemask and practice social distancing. Friends and relatives may join a live stream on the Lakeshore Family Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 11:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lakeshorefamilyfuneralhomes.com
