BARBERTON
Jake Hardman, 75, died April 2 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Lockney, W. Va. Feb. 25, 1914, he moved to Barberton in 1941. In
1977 he moved to Wadsworth, and to Amherst in 1986 to reside with his son. Mr. Hardman was the former owner and operator of Hardman & Ruedy Motors in
Wadsworth, Hardman's Confectionery, Barberton-Hudson Motors, Barberton
American Motors, and Hardman Auto Parts in Barberton, from which he retired in 1986. Mr. Hardman was a former member of the Akron Automobile Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madge, in 1984, and is survived by
his son, Donald Wayne and daughter-in-law, Alice of Amherst; brothers, Porter Hardman of Atlanta, Ga., Harry Hardman of Elyria; sisters, Mrs. Glena Pitts of Grantsville, W. Va., Mrs. Mildred Funk of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Betty Boggs of Reedsville.
Funeral services Thursday, 1 p.m., at the Stump Funeral Home in
Grantsville, W. Va., with Rev. Glenden McKee officiating. Interment at Collins Community Cemetery in Stumptown, W. Va.
