Newton - On January 28, 2021, Ival Grotegut, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 80, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 8, 1940 in Sheboygan, WI, son of the late Marcus and Adela (Schuette) Grotegut. Ival attended Valders High School, graduating with the class of 1958. He owned and operated Grotegut Dairy Farm for his entire life. On October 22, 1960 he married Dorothy Meyer. Together, they raised eight children; Tom, David, Nancy, Debbie, Faye, Gail, Doug, and Greg. Ival served in the United States National Guard for five years, was a volunteer fireman with the Newton Fire Department, and was a member of Osman Snow Sports. Ival had a passion for faith, family, hard work and, of course, sports. If he wasn't farming, he was watching a ball game and enjoying time with his family.
