Frank Hollingsworth Vernon passed away at his home in Jefferson Township, Cass County, Indiana May 28, 1943 at 6:45 a.m. after a lingering illness (Complications from Stroke). Services will be held at the Crooked Creek Church on May 30, 1943 at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Verden Graham officiating. Burial will follow at the Crooked Creek Cemetery.
He was born February 28, 1876 in Jefferson Twp, Cass County, Indiana to George A., and Precilla (Williams) Vernon.
On March 1, 1897 he was married to Evaline “Eva” Jane (Paslay) in Cass County, Indiana. They had three sons and six daughters. Two daughters preceded him in death. Precilla E., passing away in infancy and Mrs. Susie (Vernon) Working in 1935. He was a farmer and a member in good standing of Crooked Creek Church in Royal Center, Indiana.
Surviving is his wife and seven children namely, Mrs. Marie (Vernon) Rodman and Harry G Vernon both of Logansport, Indiana; Mrs. Mary (Vernon) Lanfadt, Kouts, Indiana; Mrs. Angeline (Vernon) Working, Twelve Mile, Indiana; Emerson G. Vernon, Royal Center, Indiana; Roy E. Vernon, Connersville, Indiana; and Mrs. Margaret (Vernon) Tomlinson, LaCrosse, Indiana. Also surviving are one sister Mrs. Emma (Vernon) Reams, Royal Center, Indiana and one brother George Allie Vernon of Logansport, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren: one grandson, Robert Lee Vernon who is serving in the United States Marine Corps in San Diego, California.
