GALESBURG - John F. Maher, 54, of 1313 S. Pearl St. died at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2005, at Galesburg Terrace.

He was born Dec. 19, 1950, in Galesburg to Cornelius "Connie" and Iva Jean Smith Maher.

Surviving is his mother of Galesburg.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

A member of the American Bowling Congress, he was the manager of Northgate Bowling Alley Pro Shop for several years and later became a guard for the Brinks Security Co. in Galesburg.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg.

Cremation will be accorded. A graveside memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Cemetery. Deacon Robert Myers will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
