The Shenandoah Evening Herald - September 20, 1949

The funeral of John J. Boran, 203 South Jardin street, took place today from the Creary residence, 37 West Coal street, and was largely attended.

Mass cards and flowers surrounded the bier, representing offerings from relatives and friends.

Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated at 9:30 a. m. by Rev. John Fay in the Annunciation Church. Rev. Joseph Senske was deacon and Rev. Cornelius V. O'Brien, pastor of the parish, sub-deacon.

Father Fay adminstered the last rites of absolution in the church. Father Senske was in charge of committal services at the cemetery.

The church choir sang during the celebration of Mass.

Pallbearers were Walter Roland, John Stephus, William Flaherty, Robert Shore, William Cantlin and Henry O'Hare.

Interment was in the parish cemetery.
