Mildred W. Canfield, 88, went to be with the Lord at her home on Mill Fall Road, Fairmont. She was born September 27, 1932 in Kilarm, WV, a daughter of the late Luke J. and Flora (Long) Mullenax.

Mildred loved going to church and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed fishing, reading gardening and canning on the farm, and most of all, her family, and her dogs. Lucky and Socks.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Richard C. Canfield, Jr.; 5 children: Eugene C. (Donna) Canfield, Fairmont, Cheryl A. (Bradley) Ridenour, Fairmont, Catherine L. (Steve) Haney , Pelion, SC, and Mark A. (Debra) Canfield, Fairmont; 2 brothers: Raymond (Barbara) Mullenax and Fred (Debra) Mullenax all of Fairmont; grandchildren whom she dearly loved: Eugene Canfield, Jr. ,John R. (Heather) Canfield, Jacob (Chelsea) Canfield, Brandy Ridenour (Richie) Runion, Amanda J. Ridenour (Mike) Beavan, Mark A. (Tiffany) Canfield, Daniel Willis, and great grandchildren: Kayla Pumphey, Tyler and Bethany Willies, David Beavan, Trenton Beavan, Atlanta, Alyssa, and Melachi, Richie Hop Runion and Morgan, Adrianna and Randa Canfield, Kylii Marie Canfield, Luke Jason Walker, Liam and Levi Hammond, Declan Wyatt, and Adalynn Jean Canfield.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Charles, Robert, and Hershel Mullenax, Betty Marchiny, Madeline Dixon, Nora Jean Mays, Nancy Mullenax Gonzalez, and Patty Marsh; a daughter: Carla Dawn Canfield, and a granddaughter: Cheryl Diane Willis.

The family would like to thank the Hospice staff, the bath aides, nurses, social worker, and the Marion County Senior Citizens Center aids for their kindness and support, especially Becky Love.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation services are entrusted to the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington. www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com
