Mrs. Mary Wachal, 85, of Kellnersville died early Tuesday morning at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient since July. Mrs. Wachal would have been 86 years old Saturday.
Funeral services will be at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Kalisek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wachal was born Mary Krall Dec. 2, 1875, in the town of Kossuth, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Swoboda Krall. She was married to Joseph Wachal 52 years ago and the couple operated a farm in the Town of Franklin for a few years before purchasing a tavern, furniture and funeral home at Kellnersville. They operated all three of these enterprises.
After Mr. Wachal died in 1912 Mrs. Wachal continued to operate these businesses, retiring 25 years ago. She was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge 99 of Polivka Corners.
Survivors include three sons, Alvin of Manitowoc, Quirin of Francis Creek and Joseph of Reedsville; four daughters, Mrs. Clara Kugle of Reedsville, Mrs. William Havlichek and Mrs. John Peroutka of Francis Creek and Mrs. William Kasbohm of Clintonville; two brothers, Charles of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, and Edward of Valders; a sister, Mrs. Anna Kohlbeck of Kellnersville, 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A brother and sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. by Monsignor Kalisek.
