Manitowoc - Thomas M. Schermetzler, age 62, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

He was born July 8, 1958 in Manitowoc, son of Donald F. Schermetzler and the late Jeanette (Meyer) Schermetzler. Thomas attended River View School and was employed at Holiday House of Manitowoc. In his younger years, Thomas enjoyed riding bicycle. He loved music, bowling, playing games, as well as coloring and drawing.

Survivors include his father: Donald F. Schermetzler, Manitowoc; six brothers and three sisters-in-law: John and Michele Schermetzler, Cleveland, WI, David and Renae Schermetzler, Cleveland, WI, Joe and Brenda Schermetzler, Two Rivers, Ken Schermetzler, Patrick Schermetzler, and Bill Schermetzler, all of Manitowoc; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Barbara and John Gagnon, Antigo, and Cathy Schermetzler, Manitowoc; nieces and nephews: Jennifer Jo Pyles (Julie Kaczmarek), Milwaukee, Carrie (Greg) Lade, Sheboygan, Ted (Amanda) Schermetzler, Sheboygan, Tony Schermetzler (Elliott Scher), Los Angeles, Amanda Jo (Tyler LeBombard), New Holstein, Krista (Mickey) Johnson, Mineral Point, Tim (Kaitlin) Schermetzler, Bellingham, WA, and Meghann Gagnon, Antigo; great-nieces and great-nephews: Annika Taylor, Harrison Taylor, Lucas Schermetzler, Jacob Schermetzler, Jackson Schermetzler, and Kaziah Johnson; and a dear friend and caretaker to Thomas: Shae Lynn Pauze. Many cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother: Jeanette Schermetzler; one sister: Dorothy Pyles; two brothers: Donald Schermetzler Jr. and Steven Schermetzler; one nephew: John Pyles; paternal grandparents: Jacob and Mary Schermetzler; maternal grandparents: John and Theckla Meyer; and his godparents: Theresa and Melvin Escher.

Due to Covid-19, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held and Thomas will be laid to rest at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Clarks Mills.
