Guido "Vic" Barbarossa

Manitowoc - Guido "Vic" Barbarossa, age 92, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the family residence.

Vic was born on February 16, 1928 in Rockwood, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Paul and Maria DeGregorio Barbarossa. Vic attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1946. He served with the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. He then returned home and became employed at Imperial Eastman until he retired. On September 8, 1951 he married Mary Ann Fictum at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. Vic and Mary Ann enjoyed may years of traveling and taking bus trips together along with many friends over the years. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and a past member of the Shoto Snowmobile Club.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Ann, one son, Pat "Guido" Barbarossa, Manitowoc, and one sister, Sterina Kaminski Bries, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Maria Barbarossa, brother and sister-in-law, Florian and Arlene Barbarossa, three sisters and five brothers-in-law, Nelda and Robert Woytal, Emogene and Ray Davis, Della and John Tagliapietra, Eugene Kaminski, and Robert Bries.

A Life Celebration Social will be held on what would have been Vic's 93rd birthday, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 4:30 on Tuesday lead by Rev. Jason Blahnik followed by military rites accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Otto Oas Post #659. Cremation took place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel and burial of the cremated remains will be on Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice for the compassionate care they gave to Vic and his family.
