Obituary for Edgar M. Chubbuck
A life well lived is a precious gift of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place… Our world was made all the brighter when our loving dad and grandpa was by our side. Our hearts were broken on Sunday, February 7, 2021 with the passing of our loving dad and grandpa Edgar M. Chubbuck, 92, of Orwell Twp.

Ed was born on the family farm in Potterville, PA on July 25, 1928, a son of the late Seth and Anna (Crawford) Chubbuck. He attended school in Orwell Hill and later graduated from the LeRaysville High School in 1945 as his class Salutatorian. A star basketball player, Ed caught the eye of his “lover girl” Norma Edith Bennett. A courtship that lasted for years, and on April 14, 1947 in Towanda, Ed and Norma married and cherished nearly 68 years of marriage until her passing on February 10, 2015. A lifelong dairy farmer and resident of Bradford County, Ed loved to spend time at home. He was man of many talents, Ed was a talented woodworker and electrician ~ having built his own home, and shared his love of making maple syrup with many. He also handcrafted over fifty popsicle stick homes and area buildings which are treasured by many. Ed was a man of few words, but his words impacted those he knew. Ed and Norma were faithful members of the Dille Parish United Church of Christ in LeRaysville. He was an avid supporter of the NY Yankees and enjoyed cheering on Penn State Football.

Ed was reunited with his loving wife Norma Edith; his sons: Lynn Chubbuck and Marcus Chubbuck; and his parents He will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Raymond Bird; daughter-in-law: Marie Chubbuck; his special grandchildren: Andrew (Jennifer) Bird, Kyle (Christen) Bird, Emily Bird; Terri (Greg) Peck, Daniel (Theresa) Chubbuck, Kelly (Chad) Benedict. His great grandchildren: Oliver, Walker, Lynsey, Abby, Noah, Jack, Abigail, Parker, Saraiha, and Charity. Several nieces, nephews and their families; and a dear friend, Pat Hicks who always brightened Dad’s day with phone calls.

At request of the family a graveside service will be held at a later date. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting his guestbook at www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com

Those who wish may kindly consider a memorial contribution to the Dille Parish United Church of Christ, 903 Main St., LeRaysville, Pa 18829 in loving memory of Edgar M. Chubbuck.
