Mary Jane Galer's "COLUMBUS, GA: Lists of People, 1828-1852, and Sexton's Reports to 1866" (2000), p. 227, shows: Mr. BROWNING died aged 35 years of consumption [= tuberculosis] and was buried 29 APR 1862 (from " April 1 to July 1, 1862, Sexton's Report," dated 25 AUG 1862). [The sexton at that time was Henry M. HARRIS.]
