RITES TODAY FOR SOLDIER-PASTOR

Funeral services for the Rev. James F. Reynolds, 79 years old, of University Heights, who died Saturday will be held at Mohawk this afternoon at 2 o'clock.

The Rev. Mr. Reynolds spent practically all of his life as a minister in the United Brethren denomination. He was born in Wayne County, Indiana in 1846 and during the Civil War was a chaplain of the 131st Indiana Volunteers. The Rev. Mr. Reynolds had lived in Indianapolis ten years, coming here from Hancock County.

He was active in G.A.R. affairs. He is survived by the widow and two children, Walter Reynolds and Mrs. Clara (Reynolds) Galbraith, both of Indianapolis.

Declaration for Invalid Army Pension

State of Indiana County of Hancock} SS,

On this 13th day of November, A.D. one thousand eight hundred and sixty five, personally appeared before me, Henry L. Swope, clerk of the Circuit Court, within and for the County and State aforesaid,James F. Reynolds aged 19 years, a resident of Wallpole, in the County of Hancock, in the State of Ind., who, being duly sworn according to

law, declares that he is the identical James F. Reynolds, who enlisted in the service of the United States at Indianapolis, county of Marion,State of Indiana, on the 19 day of Dec., in the year 1863, as a Private in Company I commanded by Capt. Haney, in the 131st Regiment of Ind. Vols, in the war of 1861, and was honorably discharged on the 30 day of Sept, in the year 1865; that while in the service aforesaid,and in the line of his duty, at a place called Murfeesboro, in the State of Tenn, on the 14 day of Dec., 1864, he was wounded in action by a Minnie Ball which entered the Arm above the elbow fracturing his elbow joint of right arm. That he was in Hospital No. 1 Murfeesboro

Discharged by reason of S. A War Dept. May 3rd 1865.


Since leaving the hospital he has resided in the County of Hancock,in the State of Ind. And his occupation has been none since disabled when enrolled he was a farmer. And for the purpose of prosecuting his claim, he hereby appoints L. B. Wilson of Washington D.C., his

attorney in fact, with power of substitution, and with authority to receive his pension certificate. He requests that his pension be paid at Indianapolis State of Ind. His Post Office address is Walpole,County of Hancock, and State of Ind. James F. Reynolds

No. 5. Is there any official or church record of your marriage? I have an official record by the Justice of the peace. I have it in my possession.


No. 6. Were you previously married? If so, state the name of your former wife, the date of the marriage, and the date and place of her death or divorce. If there was more than one previous marriage, let your answer include all former wives. Answer. Yes. Jennie Reynolds. Her maiden name was Jennie Lawrence. Date Feb. 22, 1871. Died May 3, 1880 Hancock Co., Ind.


No. 7. If your present wife was married before her marriage to you,state the name of her former husband, the date of such marriage, and the date and place of his death or divorce, and state whether he ever rendered any military or naval service, and, if so, give name of the
