Daniel R. Gansbauer, 73, of Springfield, died at 11:25 p.m., Saturday October 13, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center.

Daniel was born August 10, 1934 in Alexander, IL, the son of Carl and Mary Elizabeth Jarrett Gansbauer, they preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by one daughter, one granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters. He married Barbara J. Lewis on November 18, 1955.

He grew up in New Berlin, IL. He enjoyed doing yard work, watching Nascar, and spending time with family and his cats. He was employed as a local truck driver and retired from Ray's Brand Products, Lippold and Arnett.

He is survived by his wife: Barbara J. Gansbauer; three sons: Robert Gansbauer (fiancé Madonna Kerchowski), Thomas Gansbauer, and Jerry Gansbauer; two daughters: Patty Jo (Robert) Gillespie and Carol Phillips, all of Springfield; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers Francis (Lola) Gansbauer of Wichita, KS, John (Diane) Gansbauer of Auckland, New Zealand, William (Kay) Gansbauer of Secor, IL; five sisters: Pauline Gansbauer of Tinley Park, IL, Margie (Kenneth) Kasterson of Wheatland, CA, Mary Savage of Springfield, Darlene (Gene) Bergschneider of New Berlin, and Caron (Ken) Kerber of Springfield and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 4:00 p.m. with a visitation following until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 East Gibson Street, New Berlin with Pastor Jonathon Berg officiating.

Cremation accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following the Funeral Ceremony.
